Choir of the Faculty of Music

Singing unites. Our students attending the HF JAMU choir under the guidance of their colleagues from choir conducting also adhere to this sentence. During the individual exams, students work on the repertoire, which is then presented at the end of the semester at concerts for the school or the public.

History of the Choir of the Faculty of Music

In the winter semester of 2016 the first group of singers under the guidance of three choirmaster students and their pedagogical leadership began to rehearse.

At that time, the choir was attended by twelve singers. The pedagogical guarantors of the course were prof. Blanka Juhaňáková (long-time choirmaster of the Slovak Philharmonic Choir) and assistant professors Pavel Koňárek (choirmaster of the NdB Opera Choir) and Jan Ocetek (choirmaster of Vox iuvenalis Brno) and also MgA. Gabriel Rovňák, Ph.D.

Since then, the choir has continued to grow in terms of quality and number of students, which would be – in the absence of the current pandemic situation – around twenty-five.
