What does the Music Production field offer?

Music Production at the Music Production Department is a relatively young field of study; it was established at the JAMU twenty-five years ago. It is here that many graduates have started their careers as music managers, agents, festival directors and even orchestra directors in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Its mission is to prepare artistic managers and producers for their future positions and to continuously develop their own creativity. 

 

Where will graduates of the Master’s degree studies in Music Production find employment?

A graduate of the Master’s degree studies can find employment mainly in the following professions: 

  • head of marketing department in music institutions;
  • intendant and impresario;
  • manager of a large international project/festival;
  • project office manager/project manager;
  • festival director;
  • head of education in a music institution;
  • music director;
  • general manager/director of the orchestra;
  • producer;
  • head of a cultural department of a municipal authority;
  • head of a city cultural center;
  • artistic director;
  • dramaturge;
  • manager of a non-profit organization;
  • artistic manager / artistic agent / self-employed person;
  • head of primary art schools, conservatories and music grammar schools. 

What do applicants for the Master’s degree studies need to prepare for the entrance examination?

Applicants for the Master’s degree studies take an English or German language test during the entrance examination. At the interview, they then present the intention of their thesis and the graduate project they would like to implement.
