What does the Music Production field offer?
Music Production at the Music Production Department is a relatively young field of study; it was established at the JAMU twenty-five years ago. It is here that many graduates have started their careers as music managers, agents, festival directors and even orchestra directors in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Its mission is to prepare artistic managers and producers for their future positions and to continuously develop their own creativity.
Applicants do not need to be a trained musician or have experience in music to study the Bachelor’s degree field of Music Production. The field is intended for all secondary school graduates who demonstrate their organisational talent, managerial skills and obvious interest in music and cultural events.
Where will graduates of Music Production find employment?
Bachelor’s degree graduates of music management are not only able to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, but they are also sufficiently familiar with the cultural (music) sphere as a whole. They are well versed in the history of music and know the basic principles of dramaturgy, marketing, PR and artistic operation. The graduates are able to work in many positions in junior or middle management of orchestras and cultural organisations in general, as producers, festival secretaries, marketing and communication officers; they are also prepared for a career as music managers in booking, touring, promotion, economics or artist development. Thanks to a wide range of knowledge and skills, our graduates also find employment in managerial positions in multinational corporations in IT, marketing and other sectors.
