Audiovisual Studio

The audiovisual studio supports teaching and records the concert activities of the Faculty of Music. It uses modern technology to archive student performances and student ensembles in both traditional and less traditional casts.

It has a direction space separate from the recording space, which is used to record concert and teaching projects in the auditorium, chamber, organ and vaulted hall and other areas of the faculty. It offers editing, mixing and mastering of recordings for study and non-commercial use (opponent reviews of diploma theses, films for competitions, auditions).

There are also mobile recording systems which allow for professional recording of concerts in concert halls outside the JAMU building (Besední dům, Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul) with the possibility of external lighting of the space.

The AVS mediates streaming of concerts, video conferences and is capable of adding graphics and lyrics. It ensures the setting of a distribution platform for Internet broadcasting.

The studio also prepares screenings for conferences and multimedia projects.

The studio has the following equipment:

  • microphones of various characteristics, microphone stands, wireless sets;
  • hardware for digital and analogue audio recording, software for audio editing;
  • video recording cameras, film editing and subtitling software;
  • projectors, screens, tripods;
  • lighting set.

The focus of the studio’s work:

  • audio and video recordings of concerts;
  • processing of recordings for study purposes, competitions, auditions;
  • provision of support for bachelor’s and master’s degree students – CD projects for opponent reviews, diploma theses in the field of recording, Sound Design, electronic and computer music, DJing and more;
  • consultations in the field of recording studio work, operation and setting of audiovisual equipment;
  • conversions between recording formats of all kinds, digitisation of analogue recordings;
  • sound and lighting of academic and ceremonial events (matriculation, graduation, conferences), theatre-music and promotional events in public space.

 

Basic information

The AVS automatically makes audio recordings of graduation concerts for archiving purposes. These records can be provided at the student’s request. You can request them by e-mail, please include the following:

Number of CDs:

We will inform you about the processing and creation of copies of the requested concert.
Video recordings must be arranged individually.
The AVS also provides equipment rental service.
