Our pianist Kateřina Potocká celebrates international success! CONGRATULATIONS!

On 18 July 2021, pianist Kateřina Potocká became the overall winner of the Val Tidone Young Talent Competition. For her performance, the student of the Master’s programme in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy received 97 points, the 1st prize and the title of absolute winner in the highest age category of the piano competition.

Katerina has already achieved many such successes, she is a laureate of the B. Smetana Competition in Pilsen, the B. Martinů Competition in Prague, winner in Rome and Vienna. The Czech Music Fund Foundation has therefore included her in the prestigious Premium List of Young Artists, from which the organisers select the best young protagonists of concert events.

The condition for nomination to the list for three concert seasons is the award in several prestigious international competitions. Students of the JAMU Academy of Performing Arts appear on the list every year, most often pianists from the class of prof. Alena Vlasáková’s students, including Kateřina Potocká.
